As wonderful and beneficial as massage is for your health and wellbeing it is only a small part of your life, even if you're lucky enough to be able to have massage on a daily basis.

When treating chronic pain a lot of the results stem from your attitudes and beliefs and in turn your daily actions. Your overall wellbeing and life experience is the combined outcome of hundreds of daily habits, thoughts and practices combined with every single life experience that you've had so far.

Thankfully, regardless of your background, there are so many different ways that we can make meaningful changes or introduce habits that can literally change your life for the better. Every single day, every minute even, is a new opportunity for positive and meaningful change and although there is no miracle fix, with time and patience and small steps in the right direction you could be an entirely new person!

One of the leading scientific models for understanding how pain works is called the Bio-Psycho-Social (Biology/Psychology/Sociology) model. It's the one that Advanced Clinical Massage Therapy is based around, so it seemed fitting that I attempt here to separate the self care resources below into these different sections; with a slight twist because I feel there is much overlap in this model with a more longstanding understanding of how we as human beings work and our holistic nature...

Body, Mind & Soul.

The very nature of us as human beings is that the different elements mold and impact one another; what affects one part affects the whole... so it's difficult to split out the self care resources to just one element! When you do something to help with one element of your being you're bound to have a positive impact on the whole.

I encourage you to have a browse through, see what grabs your attention, and go with what feels good and right for you... as always, I'm happy to answer any questions you may have about any thing wellbeing related and if I don't have an answer I can at least point you in the direction of someone who does!
